This is my first attempt at blogging so bear with me. I
recently purchased a 2003 Santa Cruz Bullit 1.0 freeride full suspension bike
on the cheap. The bike was a basket case with random parts installed and a broken
front shock. However, the frame itself was in great shape, the rear shock is in
good condition and it came with a nice set of Avid Juicy 7 hydraulic disk brakes.
My plan is to slowly rebuild the bike over the winter so when summer comes next
year I’ll have a fun freeride and downhill machine. The first phase of my
project is going to be paint and decals. Once the frame has been stripped,
painted and the original Santa Cruz decals re-applied I will begin to acquire
used and discounted parts to build a fun toy on a budget. This will be an
interesting adventure for me as I haven’t built a bike in over 10 years and
things have come a long way since I last rode a full suspension bike, but here’s
to having fun and learning as I go!
The basket case.
Slowly dismantling the bike.
